FLUORO- AND CHROMOREACTANDS

Covalent bond formation as an analytical tool to optically
detect neutral and anionic analytes
Our  concept for the  detection of neutral  and anionic analytes is
based  on a reversible  chemical reaction  between the indicator
dye and the analyte molecule. This chemical reaction causes the
absorbance  or  luminescence  to  change. The  indicator  dye is
termed  "reactand"  because  it  combines  the  properties  of  a
chemical reagent and a selective ligand.
